Community
Arts
Community
arts--the art of creating and sustaining healthy community--are
one of the core values, and skillsets, taught by and supported by
Diana's Grove. Whether you are beginning a new community, part of
a healthy community that you wish to sustain, or want to learn how
to heal the wounds in an unhealthy community, this class has many
gifts to offer.
"Working
together gives us the opportunity to develop the art of interaction,
the art of relating. Working intentionally with others not only
enables us to develop interpersonal skills, it requires us to develop
them. As we do, as you do, your skill will impact all of your relationships."
--Cynthia Jones
As a member
of any community, your behavior as an individual is seen as the
embodiment of your community's values. What are your community's
values, and do you embody them? This class will offer you ways to
explore your values, and how to identify the values of a community.
The class will
offer engaging exercises that communicate and demonstrate concepts
through a variety of senses and learning styles. You will learn
how to take an active role in your own learning, and have opportunities
to explore concepts and tools of personal responsibility.
"Your
community cannot be healthier than you are; each of us brings our
own issues to community, and if we do not do our personal work,
then our issues become the drama in the theater of the community."
--Cynthia Jones
In the Cornerstones
class, Michelle Solvej will provide opportunities, exercises, and
a structure to support your learning and growth.
